(NEW YORK) — Jackie Mason and Kaoru Suzuki-McMullen, his female companion, were questioned by New York City police on Friday after allegedly fighting over a phone, police said.
The 75-year-old comedian and his 48-year-old companion each accused the other of assault, according to police.
Detectives talked to both, but decided to only take Suzuki-McMullen into custody.
Mason was released without charges and his companion was charged with misdemeanor assault, police added.
Suzuki-McMullen was expected to be arraigned Friday night or Saturday, according to the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office.
