Marquette Books a Trip to the Sweet Sixteen
Published at(LOUISVILLE, KY) — For the second straight year, Marquette has made it to the second week of the NCAA Men’s College Basketball Tournament. The Golden Eagles defeated Murray State, 62-53, on Saturday.
“When you’re playing a team like Murray State, they’re going to keep throwing punches and throwing punches, and you have to find a way to slow them down,” senior guard Darius Johnson-Odom said. “We did a great job of that today.”
Johnson-Odom finished the game with 17 points, while Big East Player of the Year Jae Crowder scored 17 and grabbed 13 boards.
The Golden Eagles await the winner of the Florida/Norfolk State matchup.
