Senate Passes $35M Tax Cut Bill, Ends Session
Published at(POCATELLO) – The Senate has voted to extend $35 million in tax cuts to individuals and businesses statewide. Before ending the legislative session Thursday night, the tax rate was lowered to 7.4 percent. Opponents contend that the money would have been better spent on re-staffing state jobs and will only benefit those in higher tax brackets. Supporters say that while the tax break isn’t much, it will likely have a positive effect on those looking for employment.
