“Top Chef” Judge Settles Custody Battle

Larry Busacca/WireImage(NEW YORK) — Top Chef star and author Padma Lakshmi has apparently reached a settlement in a nasty custody battle with Adam Dell, the father of their 2-year-old daughter Krishna, the New York Post reports.
Dell — the brother of Dell Computer founder Michael Dell — sued Lakshmi last year, claiming his name was deliberately left off the birth certificate after he successfully proved paternity. According to the Post, Lakshmi had told him she “hoped” her late partner, billionaire Teddy Forstmann, was actually the child’s biological father — and taught Krishna to call Forstmann “papa.”
A source told the Post the dispute was settled out of court, and Dell didn’t get the full visitation and custody rights he was seeking, but they came to a compromise that satisfied both parties. The baby will now be known as Krishna Thea Lakshmi-Dell.
