Bond For Poky Animal Shelter on November Ballot
Published at | Updated at(POCATELLO) – Pocatello voters will have the option to approve a bond for a new animal shelter in November. City officials say the current facility is 40 years old and in terrible shape. Conditions are unsanitary, both for the animals and their caretakers. The bond is estimated at between $2.5 and $3 million, and will require a two-thirds majority to pass. A recent city-wide survey found that 80 percent of responders favored building a new animal shelter.
