Bonneville County Sheriff’s Deputy has Boat Accident
Published at | Updated at(IDAHO FALLS, ID) — A Bonneville County Sheriff’s Deputy was rescued from Mud Lake after a boating accident Wednesday. Forty-six-year-old Mark Weaver of Hamer was testing out a new boat when it sunk. Rescuers say high winds made the lake choppy and dangerous. Weaver was wearing a life jacket but nearly died after an hour of floating in 48-degree water. Weaver was transported by ambulance to EIRMC where he remains in the ICU and listed in critical condition. The cause of the accident has not been determined. A spokesman with the Sheriff’s office said Weaver is a dedicated, dependable deputy who is always willing to lend a helping hand. They ask the community for thoughts and prayers for his recovery.
