Boston’s Horton Unlikely to Return for Playoffs
Published at(BOSTON) — Boston Bruins forward Nathan Horton is a long shot to return to the team for the Stanley Cup playoffs, according to Bruins general manager Peter Chiarelli.
In January Horton suffered his second concussion in a seven-month span. He has missed the last 36 games for the Bruins.
“If he were to be cleared at some point, he would need at least a couple of weeks to get back,” Chiarelli said during a conference call Sunday. “He’s quite far off right now. I know he’s skating, but he’s having little bouts here and there of post-concussion symptoms. It’s a long shot. I’m not going to rule him out, yet, but it’s a long shot.”
Boston, the Eastern Conference two seed, will start their best-of-seven series with Washington, the seven seed, in Boston Thursday.
