The View co-host and her pro partner, Val Chmerkovskiy, were eliminated from the ABC competition on Tuesday night after receiving the lowest combined total of judges’ scores and viewers’ votes.

When the announcement was made, Shepherd cried and told the audience, “Thank you for letting me live a dream that I’ve always had. … Every person out there, that thing that scares you the most, that makes you say, I don’t know if I can do it, I’m scared, run towards it because it’s so amazing on the other side.”

Shepherd opened Monday’s performance show with a tango to the Quiet Riot hit “Cum On Feel the Noize.” Judge Carrie Ann Inaba said Shepherd lacked her usual enthusiasm during the dance.

Shepherd’s elimination came just hours after she tweeted that she twisted her foot while giving judge Len Goodman a lap dance.

Disney actor Roshon Fegan staved off elimination in the results show’s final moments and will return next week with eight other celebrities, including Gladys Knight, who earned the lowest total judges’ score on Monday.

Melissa Gilbert was not in the ballroom Tuesday night after suffering a mild concussion during her performance 24 hours earlier. Her partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy, said the actress is a trooper and is looking forward to returning to the dance floor next week.

For the second consecutive night, Kiss performed inside the ballroom. This time, they did a live rendition of their 1983 hit “Lick It Up.”

The competition will resume next Monday at 8:00 p.m. Eastern time.
