Former NFL QB Ryan Leaf Arrested Again
Published at(HELENA, Mont.) — More trouble for former San Diego Chargers quarterback Ryan Leaf. The 35-year-old was arrested again Monday for burglary, two days after he posted bail on charges that he stole prescription painkillers from a friend’s home.
Leaf faces new charges including burglary, theft and two counts of criminal possession of dangerous drugs. He is also being held on a probation violation.
The Chargers selected Leaf out of Washington State with the overall number-two pick in the 1998 NFL draft, one spot after the Indianapolis Colts selected quarterback Peyton Manning.
During his four-year playing career, Leaf passed for 3,666 yards with 14 touchdowns and 36 interceptions.
