“Grey’s Anatomy” Character Will Die in Season Finale

ABC/RANDY HOLMES(LOS ANGELES) — The season finale of Grey’s Anatomy will be a dark one.
The creator of the ABC drama, Shonda Rhimes, tells TV Guide that a “beloved character” — in the words of the magazine — will be killed off. She says the episode will contain “really shocking, horrible moments” that brought the show’s writers to tears.
Rhimes says it was “torture” for her to write the season finale, which airs on May 17, because she’s scared of how fans might react to it. The storyline will involve the staff members of Seattle Grace dealing with a medical case outside of the hospital.
It won’t be the first time a regular character on the show has been killed off — T.R. Knight’s Dr. George O’Malley died after getting hit by a bus.
