Morgan Freeman Not Marrying His Granddaughter

Christopher Polk/Getty Images for AFI(LOS ANGELES) — Veteran actor Morgan Freeman has slammed rumors of a relationship with his 27-year-old step-granddaughter as “defamatory fabrications,” reports TMZ.
Freeman released a statement in response to circulating reports that he and E’Dena Hines have been romantically involved for close to 10 years and are planning to get married.
In the statement, the Invictus star said, “The recent reports of any pending marriage or romantic relationship of me to anyone are defamatory fabrications from the tabloid media designed to sell papers. What is even more alarming is these fabrications are now being picked up by the legitimate press as well.”
Hines is the granddaughter of Freeman’s first wife, Jeanette Adair Bradshaw. They are not related by blood.
For her part, Hines issued a statement saying, “These stories about me and my grandfather are not only untrue, they are also hurtful to me and my family.”
