Oscar-Winning Producer’s Wife Wants Divorce, Order of Protection

Kevin Winter/Getty Images(NEW YORK) — A day after he reportedly staged an intervention to try to address her alleged drinking problem, the New York Post reports Annie Weinstein, the wife of multiple-time Oscar-winning producer Bob Weinstein, apparently decided she wanted an order of protection against him — and a divorce. The paper reports she recently had the paperwork filed in Manhattan Criminal Court in New York City Saturday, claiming she fears “bodily harm.”
The expert who reportedly performed the intervention is calling the accusations “frivolous,” and the producer’s camp tells the paper, “Bob’s only hope is that his wife will get the treatment she needs for the sake of their children and herself.” The couple is raising two children from Weinstein’s first marriage.
Weinstein, along with his brother Harvey, now run The Weinstein Company, the production house behind the most recent best-picture Oscar winner The Artist. They formerly ran Miramax, where Bob met his wife — who was then a secretary. The pair married in 2000.
