But after beating Ottawa 3-2 Monday night, the Rangers will do just that.

Rangers rookie Chris Kreider scored what proved to be the game winning goal, and goalie Henrik Lundqvist stopped 25 of the 27 shots he faced in the victory.

“I think I’ll look back on it (goal) and obviously be extremely happy and able to smile, but what’s important is we were able to come away with a win,” said Kreider, who’s goal was also the first of his NHL career.

The loss spoiled the return of the Senators Daniel Alfredsson, who missed the last three games with a concussion.

Game 7 will take place Thursday night.
