(YAKIMA, Wash.) – Native American tribes from the Pacific Northwest are celebrating the completion of the last of 31 tribal fishing sites on the lower Columbia River. The federal government authorized the new fishing sites after several traditional locations were flooded out when the river was dammed. The 64-acre site about 75 miles east of Portland cost $4.8 million, and features campsites, restrooms, showers, and a fishing cleaning table.
