5.8-Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Northern Italy
Published at(ROME) — At least 15 people are dead after a 5.8-magnitude earthquake struck northern Italy Tuesday morning, Italian news agency ANSA reports.
According to the United States Geological Survey, the quake was six miles deep and hit 24 miles north northwest of Bologna at 9:00 a.m. local time.
The region is the same area where another tremor hit on May 20. That quake measured 6.0 in magnitude and killed seven people.
