(JIM WATSON/AFP/Getty Images)(NEW YORK) — Ann Romney wants to make sure everyone knows that her husband is just as “wild and crazy” as the next guy. In an interview on CBS This Morning, Mrs. Romney sat beside her husband and argued that the assumption that her husband is too stiff and not relatable is wrong.

“I think in politics that is what always happens, there is a narrative and sometimes you like to put him in a box and keep in that box,” said Mrs. Romney.

Putting her hands on her husband’s shoulder and shaking him gently, Mrs. Romney began laughing – as did her husband – as she explained how the media portrays the presumptive GOP nominee.

“As stiff, he’s not,” said Mrs. Romney, laughing. “He’s funny.”

“It’s nice to me as the wife to say no look this is the person who is really there. This is the boy who I knew — I still look at him as the boy I met in high school when he was playing all the jokes and really being crazy, pretty crazy,” she said.

“There’s a wild and crazy man in there,” said Mrs. Romney.

Mrs. Romney managed to stay away from the language she used last month when discussing how she’s help combat the image of her too-stiff husband, saying in a radio interview at the time, “Well, you know, I guess we better unzip him and let the real Mitt Romney out because he is not!”

“You know, it is so funny to me that that is the perception out there. Because he is funny, he is engaging, he is witty,” Mrs. Romney said at the time.
