Bingham County Unveils Video Jail Visitation
Published at | Updated at
(BLACKFOOT) – Inmates at the Bingham County jail will soon have a new way to communicate with visitors. Here’s Tyler Andersen with more. The jail is installing a video visitation system that officials say will be cost-efficient and safer. Sheriff Dave Johnson says the new system helps officers avoid escorting inmates to the visitation center, which often carries serious risks. Officials tell Local News 8 that the system should be up and running within the next month or two. The Idaho Department of Correction is also considering the same technology.
