Elementary School Student Brings Gun to School

(IDAHO FALLS) – A gun was found in the backpack of a Dora Erickson Elementary School student Thursday. Idaho Falls Police say the 10-year-old found the gun while playing at Central Park on Holmes Ave. and Cleveland Street earlier in the week. The student put it in their backpack and school authorities later found out about the .25 caliber handgun. The gun was not loaded, though their was ammunition in the backpack. Police do not suspect the student had any ill intent. The student faces a five-day suspension and a due process hearing.
