After 12 rounds of action, Mayweather topped Miguel Cotto after two judges scored the fight 117-111 and the third scored it 118-110.

Mayweather competed in one the toughest fight of his career. He even found himself bruised and with a bloody nose at one point, but after a strong 12th round, Mayweather sealed the victory to keep his career record blemish free. He has yet to lose a fight during his 16-year pro career.

“He’s a tough competitor,” Mayweather said of his opponent. “He came to fight; he didn’t come to just survive. I dug down and fought him back.”

Mayweather was guaranteed a record $32 million and Cotto made him fight for it. Cotto on the other hand, made $8 million, which was his biggest guaranteed purse of his career.

ESPN.com showed that Mayweather landed 179 out of 687 punches to 105 out of 506 to Cotto.
