Heat Burn Knicks 106-94, Advance to Second Round
Published at(MIAMI) — LeBron James had 29 point, eight boards and seven assists leading the Miami Heat to a series winning 106-94 victory over the New York Knicks.
“It was a great first test for us,” LeBron said. “New York is a great team, coached well and has so many great players. We were able to come out the first two games and take care of home. Then we split on the road- that was a good thing for us- and we were able to finish them up in five here, so it was a good first test for us. We prepared well. Our coaching staff put us in position every game to give us a chance to win. That’s all we can ask for.”
Carmelo Anthony scored 35 points in the loss.
“We fought under the circumstances,” Anthony said. “I’m not one to make any excuses for anything. We still went out there and we competed.”
Next up for the Heat, the Indiana Pacers. Game 1 takes place Sunday at 3:30 PM ET in Miami.
