(WASHINGTON) — Jobless claims rose last week to 383,000, the largest gain in a month, according to the latest figures from the Labor Department.
The agency reported Thursday that for the week ending May 26, the number of people filing for benefits jumped by 10,000 from the previous week’s total of 373,000.
The four-week average also saw an increase, rising by 3,750 to 374,500.
Americans will get a full picture of how the jobs market fared in May when the Labor Department releases its monthly employment report Friday morning.
