Denis Poroy/Getty Images(BOSTON) — The Boston Red Sox have placed pitcher Aaron Cook on the 15-day disabled list.  Cook needed 11-stiches on his left knee after he was involved in a collision at home plate during Saturday’s game against the Orioles.

Andrew Miller has been activated from the DL to take Cook’s spot. Miller will come out of the bullpen for the Sox. He has been rehabbing a sprained left hamstring he suffered during spring training.

During 10 relief appearances in Triple-A Pawtucket, Miller has pitched 11 innings, striking out 23, walking 14 while compiling a  5.73 ERA.
