Stay-cations trending in Idaho

(IDAHO FALLS) – A little under half of Idahoans didn’t travel much last summer, opting to go on “stay-cations” instead. Local News 8 reports that when the recession hit in 2008, many families were forced to reevaluate their vacation plans or forgo them all together. Experts say the popularity of regional attractions such as Yellowstone have proven to be a more affordable alternative. AAA will announce its 2012 summer travel projections Memorial Day weekend.
