(NEW YORK) — Saturday Night Live said goodbye to longtime cast member Kristen Wiig over the weekend. SNL creator Lorne Michaels isn’t sure whether any of Wiig’s co-stars, namely Andy Samberg and Jason Sudeikis, will take a cue from her and also leave the NBC series.
It’s been rumored for a while that Samberg and Sudeikis will move on.
When asked by TheWrap.com whether the two will remain on SNL, Michaels answered, “You never know,” then added, “I think everyone gets through the season and just the level of fatigue by the end is just overwhelming, and it’s a very emotional time. I’ve had a rule since the second season, which is to not make any decisions in June. We’ll see in July.”
Michaels can count on Fred Armisen returning for another season. Though he’s been more busy than usual the past two years due to his work on his IFC comedy Portlandia, Armisen tells TheWrap.com he wants to continue with SNL.
He says, “I hope things keep going. I don’t take anything for granted.”
Armisen joined SNL in 2002.
