“I want to apologize to fans or people that looked up to me, because of what I did, the decision I made over the weekend, that might be questioning who I am now,” said Blackmon.  “I just want to apologize for that.”

It was Blackmon’s second alcohol-related incident in less than two years. On Sunday his blood alcohol content was three times the legal limit.

“Right now I’m done with all that,” said Blackmon of his drinking issues.  “I can’t promise you ten years down the road that I’m going to be done I just know as right now and for what I can speak of I’m looking forward to getting ready to play football and just putting this in the past.”

But Blackmon does not think he has a drinking problem.

“I do not,” he said. “I just think I made a poor choice. I put myself in a bad situation. It’s completely my fault. I’ve just got to make better judgment on that.”

Blackmon was allowed to remain free on $1,000 bond. His next court date is July 24, three days before training camp.
