After a fairly successful run on ABC’s Dancing With the Stars and release of her memoir, Bristol Palin has taken the next step and thrust herself into reality-TV land, starring in her own show.

Her half-hour show, Bristol Palin: Life’s a Tripp, a play on her son’s name, will premiere tonight on Lifetime TV for a 10-episode run. Palin, 21, says the show will portray her as a “normal, grounded mom,” but also shows her fiercely defend her mom, former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, in a confrontation with a man at a bull-riding bar.

The man involved in the altercation is now suing Palin because he claims that he has been featured in ads for the show even though he never signed a waiver. He is suing both Bristol and Lifetime for defamation and seeking more than $75,000 in damages.

While this is not Bristol Palin’s first foray into TV (besides Dancing she also was featured in her mom’s show, Sarah Palin’s Alaska, on TLC), it might be the first time she has some regrets about it. As she recently said in an interview on Fox News, “If I would have known it was my own name and so much in my life is going to be shown on this show, I think I would reconsider it and think about it more.”
