Dow Down Fourth Straight Day, Facebook at New Low
(NEW YORK) — After a sharp drop Friday, the Dow closed at 12,101.46 on Monday, down another 17.11 points in trading.
The S&P ended the day flat at 1,278.18, while the NASDAQ managed to end the day up 12.53 points to close at 2,760.01.
Despite a positive NASDAQ, Facebook shares hit a new low, closing at $26.90. Facebook is now down 29 percent from its IPO price.
The average price of a gallon of regular gas is $3.61, down 6 cents from a week ago, according to the Department of Energy. Its price is also down 17 cents from a year ago.
The most expensive gas in the country is on the West Coast, where the average price for a gallon of regular is $4.19, down 4 cents from last week, while the least expensive gas is on the Gulf Coast, with the average price for a gallon of regular at $3.37, down 5 cents from a week ago.
