ISU Study Finds Possible Cause For Autism

(POCATELLO) – A group of Idaho State University researchers may have found a possible cause for autism. Biology professor Michael Thomas says that fish exposed to water with certain types of psychoactive medications present showed genetic changes similar to autism. The report indicates that trace amounts of Prozac and Effexor in drinking water could be the link that causes autism in humans, though researchers caution that the results were preliminary and that further research is necessary.
