Lamar Odom Traded to the Clippers In Four-Team Trade

DAL Odom Lamar? SQUARESPACE CACHEVERSION=1341020535395(NEW YORK) — Lamar Odom finally got his wish and gets to play in Los Angeles. Only this time he’s back with the team he started his career.  Odom has been traded to the Los Angeles Clippers as part of a four-team trade.

To get the deal done, the Clippers sent guard Mo Williams to the Utah Jazz. Utah will use the trade exemption they received in the Mehmet Okur deal with the New Jersey Nets earlier this past season to take on Williams’ salary for next season. The Mavericks also received the draft rights to Tadija Dragicevic from Utah and cash considerations from the Houston Rockets. The Clippers also sent the draft rights to Furkan Aldemir to Houston.

The Clippers are hoping to get the Lamar Odom who won the NBA’s Sixth Man of the Year Award two seasons ago with the Los Angeles Lakers, not the player who was dismissed from the Mavericks this past season. He averaged just 6.6 points and 4.2 rebounds per game last season with Dallas.

Meanwhile, Williams is also going back to where he began his NBA career. Williams spent his rookie season with the Jazz during the 2003-2004 season. This past season for the Clippers he averaged 13.2 points and 3.1 assists per game.
