Michael Jackson’s Daughter Reveals Private Moments with Dad

Marcel Thomas/FilmMagic(NEW YORK) — Paris Jackson, the only daughter of the late pop icon Michael Jackson, is revealing more than ever about the father she knew.
In an interview with Oprah Winfrey for Sunday’s edition of Oprah’s Next Chapter, the 14-year-old said she finally understands why her father would cover her face in public during childhood.
“I didn’t get why I was wearing a mask, but I understand it now,” Jackson said. “When we went out without him we wouldn’t be recognized. We could have a normal childhood.”
Jackson, a budding actress, also recalled how her father told them he wanted to ensure that she and her siblings — Prince, 15, and Blanket, 10 — would have a normal childhood because when he was a kid, he was always “stuck in the studio singing.”
“And he wanted us to have that,” she says. “Toys R Us and Chuck E Cheese were our favorite places to go.”
The King of Pop died in 2009 of an overdose of the anesthetic propofol, administered by his physician, Dr. Conrad Murray. Murray was later convicted of involuntary manslaughter and sentenced to four years in prison.
