Obama Campaign: Health Care ‘Still a BFD’
Published at(NEW YORK) — On the president’s campaign Twitter feed last night, Obama campaign staffers reminded followers of Vice President Biden’s March 2010 open-mic remark that passing the health care bill was a “big f*cking deal”:
“@BarackObama: Still a BFD: OFA.BO/ayPgAZ.”
The link goes to a page on the Obama campaign website where one can buy a shirt for $30 that reads “Health Care: Still a BFD.”
Conservatives suggest that cursing is now a “thing” for the Obama campaign, given that campaign manager Jim Messina yesterday blogged “Let’s win the damn election,” and Democratic National Committee executive director Patrick Gaspard tweeted “it’s constitutional. B******.” (Asterisks included by ABC)
Obama campaign senior adviser David Axelrod in March blogged, “Hell yeah, I like Obamacare.”
A senior adviser to Mitt Romney, expressed displeasure, tweeting: “Still not presidential. Kids, earmuffs RT @BarackObama Still a BFD: http://t.co/I4VUMs2K”
At the time of the vice president’s remark, the White House not only confirmed Biden’s comments, but agreed: “And yes Mr. Vice President, you’re right…,” then-White House press secretary Robert Gibbs tweeted.
