Orlando Woolridge, 52, Dies
Published at(NEW YORK) — Former NBA player Orlando Woolridge died Thursday at his parents’ home in Mansfield, La, at the age of 52. Woolridge had been sick with a chronic heart condition, and was under hospice care at their home.
Woolridge played his College ball at Notre Dame, and was a part of the Irish’s 1978 Final Four team. He played 13 NBA seasons for seven teams, averaging 16 points-per-game for his career.
When Wooldrige retired from the NBA, he spent a year as the head coach of the WNBA’s Los Angeles Sparks.
