Two Idaho Pilots Killed in Firefighting Crash

(CEDAR CITY, Utah) – Two Idaho firefighting pilots have died after their air-tanker went down near the Utah-Nevada border Sunday. The Iron County, Utah Sheriff’s Office says pilot Todd Neal Tompkins and co-pilot Ronnie Edwin Chambless, both of Boise, had been fighting a blaze that started during a thunderstorm Friday in eastern Nevada. The airmen had been flying the plane owned by Neptune Aviation Services of Missoula, Montana.
