Afghanistan Will Receive $16 Billion Aid, With Conditions

SHAH MARAI/AFP/Getty Images(TOKYO) — On Sunday at an international donor’s conference, $16 billion is pledged to help the economic development of Afghanistan over the next four years, but the Afghan government must reduce government corruption before they receive all the money, according to the New York Times.
The Tokyo Framework of Mutual Accountability is the agreement that states the guidelines that Afghanistan must meet in getting aid like making 20 percent of their country’s funds meet good governance standards.
