Bergdahl Family Marks Anniversary of Son’s Capture

(HAILEY, ID)  —    The family of an Idaho prisoner of war marked the third anniversary of their son’s capture in Afghanistan over the weekend. Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl was taken into custody by the Taliban during combat operations June 30, 2009. U.S. Intelligence officials believe Bergdahl may be in the Taliban-controlled region on the Afghan-Pakistani border.  A report released by the Pentagon claims that the search for the 26-year-old remains a “constant focus” for military commanders stationed in the area.
