Houston receives third baseman Matt Dominquez and left-handed pitcher Rob Rasmussen, both minor leaguers, in the deal.

The Astros will pay almost all of the $9 million still owed to Lee this season except for prorated minimum salary that is about $250,000, according to sources of ESPN’s MLB Insider Buster Olney.

The 36-year-old outfielder is hitting .287 with five home runs and 29 RBIs this season.

Carlos Lee will be reunited with Marlins skipper Ozzie Guillen, whom he played for one year as a member of the Chicago White Sox.
