Celtics Acquire Guard Courtney Lee From Rockets In Sign-and-Trade

NBA via Houston Rockets(NEW YORK) — Boston Celtics fans may still be stinging after the loss of guard Ray Allen, but the team has taken the necessary steps to replace him. The team has acquired guard Courtney Lee from the Houston Rockets for JaJuan Johnson, E’Twaun Moore, Sean Williams, and a secod-round pick to Houston. The Portland Trail Blazers will receive Sasha Pavlovic, two future second-round picks, and cash considerations.
Yahoo! Sports is reporing that Lee’s deal is for four-years worth $21.5 million. Lee is expected to earn about $5 million in his first season with Boston, while Moore and Williams are expected to be wavied by the Rockets.
Last season, Lee was a key role player for the Rockets. He appeared in 58 games overall, starting 26. In his fourth season in the league, Lee averaged 11.4 points 2.7 rebounds per game. He also shot .401% percent from three and is considered one of the better perimeter defenders in the NBA as well.
Along with Lee, the Celtics have added Jason Terry while re-signing Kevin Garnett, Jeff Green, and Brandon Bass.
