Dee Gordon Expected to Miss Six Weeks
Published at(PHOENIX) — Los Angeles Dodgers shortstop Dee Gordon will miss six weeks due to a torn ulnar collateral ligament in his right thumb that will require surgery. The injury happened Wednesday night in the Dodgers game versus the Cincinnati Reds, when Gordon slid head-first into third base.
Surgery is scheduled for Friday in the Phoenix area.
The 24-year-old Gordon leads the National League in steals with 30. but is only hitting .229.
Recent call-up Luis Cruz started at shortstop Thursday.
