(SPARTA, KY.) — NASCAR Sprint Cup driver Denny Hamlin and Joe Gibbs Racing have agreed to a contract extension. Hamlin made the announcement before Saturday Night’s race at Kentucky Speedway.
“IT’S OFFICIAL,” Hamlin tweeted. “I’ve signed an extension with @JoeGibbsRacing. Happy to know where my future is. Excited for tonight and beyond with my team.”
Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Hamlin’s original contract with JGR wasn’t set to expire until late 2013.
The 31-year-old Hamlin has spent his entire eight-year-career with Joe Gibbs Racing. In 240 races he has 19 wins, 73 Top-5 finishes and 119 Top-10 finishes.
