Facebook Fires a Yoga Teacher over Cell Phone Ban

Peter Foley/Bloomberg via Getty Images(MENLO PARK, Calif.) — Alice Van Ness, 35, a yoga teacher was fired from Facebook last month because she requested her students turn off their cell phones, according the San Francisco Gate.
Plus One Management, the fitness contractor working with Facebook, terminated the yoga teacher because a student complained about the treatment she got after using her phone for work twice during a class.
Van Ness hopes to continue teaching yoga in studios in Silicon Valley, but will avoid technology companies.
