Four Rescued Near Lower Mesa Falls

(ST. ANTHONY) – Four men were rescued along the Snake River near Lower Mesa Falls Wednesday morning.The Fremont County Sheriff’s Office says the men were college students from Utah and had been canoeing in the area Tuesday when they capsized in some rapids. One of the four then climbed out of the canyon at around midnight to call for help. The four ended up spending the night on a rock shelf. Officials caution that recreationists should preplan their trips and always use proper safety equipment.
