(IDAHO FALLS, ID)  —  The City of Idaho Falls and the Idaho Falls Regional Airport are pleased to announce that following a national search and careful consideration of a very strong group of finalists, the City has selected a new Airport Director to succeed Director Len Nelson after his August 10th retirement.  Mr. Craig H. Davis will be assuming the responsibility of the Director position this Fall.  After current Director Len Nelson retires on August 10, 2012 and before the arrival of Mr. Davis, the Airport will be under the supervision and guidance of Mr. Craig Lords, Director of Municipal Services.  Commenting on the process and selection, Mayor Jared Fuhriman stated, “Between Mr. Lord’s previous experience as Interim Airport Manager and the experienced airport staff, I am confident that the Idaho Falls Regional Airport will be in good hands while we finalize the official start date for Craig Davis.  That being said, Mr. Davis will bring with him a wealth of experience and leadership to his new position and I am certain that our regional airport will continue to be the premier transportation hub in eastern Idaho.”

Mr. Davis holds a bachelor’s degree in Airport Management from Middle Tennessee State University and has most recently served as the Airport Manager for the Metropolitan Knoxville Airport Authority in Knoxville, Tennessee.

Craig brings a wealth of management experience related to airport operations, safety, security, environmental impact, FBO management, and planning that will be incredibly valuable to the City of Idaho Falls.

Commenting on his recent selection, Mr. Davis stated, “I am excited for the opportunity to serve as the next Airport Director and to continue the success of the Airport. My family and I look forward to making Idaho Falls our home!”
