(WINNIPEG) — Oli Jokinen signed a two-year $9 million contract with the Winnipeg Jets Monday.
“He has the size, he’s got a tremendous amount of experience, he’s had great consistency over the years,” Jets general manager Kevin Cheveldayoff said during a conference call. “We believe that with adding the size of (Alexei) Ponikarovsky and now Jokinen, we’re a much bigger and harder team to play against.”
The 33-year-old Jokinen had 61 points for the Calgary Flames last season.
Over his 14-year career, Jokinen has played with the Calgary Flames, Florida Panthers, Los Angeles Kings, New York Rangers, New York Islanders and Phoenix Coyotes. He has also played in 1,042 games scoring 292 goals and dishing out 391 assists.
