(BOISE) – A Pocatello man is lucky to be alive after escaping a fiery car crash and being struck by a semi. 37-year-old Patrick Grimm was traveling eastbound on I-84 near Boise when he fell asleep at the wheel at around 4:30 a.m. Thursday. Grimm’s car came to rest about 300 yards off the roadway and burst into flames, burning ten acres in the process. When Grimm returned to the freeway to flag down help, he was hit by a semitrailer. Grimm was airlifted to a Boise hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. An investigation is ongoing.
