(NEW YORK) — Guard Rodney Hood is leaving Mississippi State and transferring to Duke.
Hood decided to transfer because his coach at Mississippi State, Rick Stansbury, retired in March.
Hood will have to sit out next season due to NCAA transfer rules, but he will still have three years of eligibility left when he attends Duke.
During his freshman season, Hood averaged 10.3 points, 4.8 boards and two assists per game.
Duke beat out Memphis, Ohio State and Florida State to land the talented guard.
