Run-DMC Reuniting for Fun Fun Fun Fest
Published at(NEW YORK) — Shortly after the 2002 shooting death of Run-D.M.C.’s Jason Mizell, known to fans as Jam Master Jay, the group’s surviving members announced their retirement, pledging to never again perform under the group name. Ten years later, Joseph “Run” Simmons and Darryl “DMC” McDaniel have agreed to reunite this fall at the Fun Fun Fun Fest in Austin, TX.
In honor of Jam Master Jay, organizers of the three-day showcase are working with the group to donate a portion of the event’s proceeds to Jay’s JMJ Foundation for Music. The non-profit group is dedicated to providing access to the arts to children and young adults, regardless of socio-economic status.
The Fun Fun Fun Fest takes place Nov. 2 to 4. Passes are already on sale.
