Bynum, who just was traded to the Sixers as part of the deal that sent Dwight Howard to the Lakers, will be having the same procedure as fellow athletes Kobe Bryant, Alex Rodriguez and Grant Hill.

The procedure is called Orthokine/Regenokine, and will be done by Peter Wehling, founder of the Center for Molecular Orthopaedics in Dusseldorf, the Inquirer reported.

Bynum is not currently experiencing any pain in either of his knees, but he was impressed with the impact the procedure had on ex-teammate Kobe Bryant, and Bynum wants to prolong his career, according to the paper.

Bynum, 24, averaged 18.7 points, 11.8 boards and 1.9 blocks a game last season with the Los Angeles Lakers.
