Jim Calhoun Released from Hospital
Published at(STORRS, Conn.) — University of Connecticut head basketball coach Jim Calhoun was released from the hospital after he had surgery to repair a hip fracture.
Calhoun injured the hip in a bicycle accident near his home in Madison, Connecticut. There is no timetable for his return to work.
This is the second time in three years Calhoun has been injured in a bicycle accident. In 2009 he broke multiple ribs during a charity bike ride.
Calhoun has won three National Championships with the Huskies and has a 873-380 record in 40 years of coaching.
