Lee Evans Released

Al Messerschmidt/Getty Images(JACKSONVILLE) — The Jacksonville Jaguars have released veteran wide receiver Lee Evans.
The eighth year player signed with the Jaguars in April after being released by the Baltimore Ravens.
Evans, who had 1,000 yard receiving seasons in 2006 and 2008, looked to bolster the Jaguars receiving core for second-year quarterback Blaine Gabbert. Evans did not play in the first preseason game for Jacksonville.
In his final game with Baltimore last season, Evans dropped a pass in the end zone in the final minute of the AFC Championship game against the New England Patriots that could have given the Ravens a Super Bowl berth.
Evans has career numbers of 381 receptions for 6,008 yards and 43 touchdowns. The majority of his production came with the Buffalo Bills, where he played seven seasons.
