Romney said that while the overall unemployment rate in U.S. has hovered just over eight percent during Obama’s first term, the jobless rate among Latinos is well over ten percent.

The GOP presidential candidate added that the poverty rate among this group is higher than before the incumbent took office.

Meanwhile, Romney claimed that Obama’s plan to stop deporting young people born to illegal immigrants is only a half-measure to combat the problem, charging the president with failing to come up with a comprehensive plan.

Romney is trying to make some inroads with Hispanics since the Latino Decisions survey released Monday showed him trailing Obama 68 percent to 26 percent with the margin even wide among Latinas, 74 percent to 21 percent.
